As many of you may know, we like to born our babies at home. Gabby’s birth was the hardest by far and really made us second-guess the next birth at home. Then came Michael, and along with his death, Kristi almost died as well after bleeding out. This was the icing on the cake for me, so I thought.

After much discussion with Kristi, a nurse-midwife at a local doctor’s office, and our long-time midwife, we have decided that we are going to homebirth again. Obviously, this all depends on how the pregnancy goes, and we are monitoring this pregnancy very closely. But if all goes well, we are doing another homebirth. We have confirmed, through a number of tests, that Kristi does NOT have a bleeding problem and that Michael’s case was a common case where Kristi’s body was not ready to give birth and did not have the extra blood supply needed to give birth, hence, her bleeding out. This has put my mind at ease and allowed me to feel comfortable with another homebirth.

So, I just ask that you all pray for us as you can so we can have a nice, natural, non-eventful, homebirth.
