BREAKING NEWS

Well, we have some good news today. We are expecting a baby, due date sometime in November!! Kristi had noticed in the past couple weeks things were changing here-and-there. Dreams about babies, Gabby has been nursing like crazy, etc. So, today she decided to try a pregnancy test. I didn’t know she was taking the test, I was the only one at the dinner table finishing up with Gabby and her refried bean mess, and Kristi comes out of the bathroom holding a pee-stick, saying, “Well, I’m pregnant!”. But, just like every pregnancy test she’s ever done, I am skeptical. I just don’t trust that faint line. Now, every time I am skeptical, I have been wrong. The faint line always turns out being a positive test. So this time, I am embrasing the plastic with pee on it and believe she is pregnant.

I am so excited I can’t stand it. Now, my kids are so excited I don’t know if they will go to sleep tonight. They are bouncing off the walls trying to think of names, figuring out where the baby will sleep. We will have 4 kids at home now. That puts our total at 6 children. We are officially Catholic now, there’s no turning back! :)

Yup, that’s right, 6 kids. Go hear to see the math.

Anyway, please pray for us as we pray for this baby and a happy birth in November! More to come as the pregnancy progresses.

Spring’s on its way!!

It looks like I survived another winter. I swear, next winter I’m moving; at least for the winter. I really don’t like it. I have no idea why or how I managed to stay here in Indiana. Don’t get me wrong, Indiana is great, but I can just do without the winter. And yes; of course I’ve come out of this winter feeling like a failure because I’m still 60 pounds overweight! I have not made it to the gym yet. I hope to scrape up some cash to join the Bloomington Sportsplex. That is the last place I really enjoyed working out and lost a majority of my 70 pounds there last time I worked out. When I do start working out, I will put my progress on iPhat so I have some accountability out there. I’ll need to lose weight to keep up with the kids this year!!

But, I will say, the past couple of days have been great. 60+ degrees, sunny some of the time. I love it! Bring on summer baby! 80+ degrees is the way to go.

iBarnett Gets New Equipment

Well, iBarnett’s HP dv9000 laptop finally is not working out for me anymore. It’s 2 years old, time for a new rotation of equipment. I really really wanted an Apple MacBook Pro but I could not justify the cost compared to a deal I got through DELL for a XPS 630 desktop (8GB Ram, 640GB Harddrive, QuadCore Intell Processor, nVidia GeoForce GTX280 video card w/ 1GB Ram, Dual 48x DVD/CD burners, Speakers, NO MONITOR).  I got much more power and computer for about $400 less. I know, I know, the Mac is a much superior machine, but I just had bad luck with these laptops lately, and couldn’t afford the Mac Pro. Maybe when iBarnett makes its first million? :)

It should arrive on Thursday the 26th, but my dv9000 will be sold on eBay and be shipped by Monday. So, I will have a few days there with no computer. I’m sure Kristi and the kids will love that!! Though, on the 26th, I am paying my family to leave for the evening so I can put together my new toy and get it all setup!!!

Anyway, just wanted to get y’all up-to-date on iBarnett’s equipment matters. It took me a good 1.5 weeks to come to the decision after configuring computers online about 100 times.

A somber day…

January 26th 2009, this was Matthew’s “due date”. Kristi, Bradley, Maddy, Gabby and I went to Michael’s grave to visit, wiped the snow off his (temporary) headstone, and said a few private prayers. It was a quiet visit, snow all around, cold. It was hard to do anything else other than thinking of what it should have been. We should have been in front of our fireplace, Kristi, Mary Helen our midwife, and me. Working hard to bring our new baby to this world. But, God had other plans.

Michael, we miss you very much!!
