wax paper

So. I was wondering, when do you decide to get serious about losing all your fatness and getting healthy? Is it when you are eating a BLT Pita from the Pita Pit, wrapped in their wax-paper to keep juices from falling onto my belly (because my belly can hang over and protect it from getting to my keyboard)? Is it when you are eating along and notice a big bite mark out of the paper and you didn’t even realize you ate a mouthful of wax paper along with the 2-inch thick bacon blob in the pita?

I think I know the answer, but I’m curious to see what other people think about when should you get serious about getting health and slimming down?

I mean, I was just 160 lbs 2.5 years ago. Now 220 lbs. Yes, that seems like “Wow, you really porked up there buddy!”; and yes, I did. But really, I mean, what am I to do? I have a broken back, I hate running, but I do love to sweat. But being fat allows you to sweat even when you don’t move! Sometimes, on a hot day, you can just sweat from the shear insulation of your fatness. Oh, yes, so nice!

Not to mention, I’m sure my wife loves to see a fat, hairy guy chase her around the house saying “C’mon baby, give me some suga!”. I know I would! (LOL).

Anyway, may the phat be with you, but hopefully not the fat.

    Hi!
Well, you don’t have to start excercising right away. You should loose some of your weight by eating right. I know you don’t want to hear your mother nag at you! Just cut out so much fat. Add more fiber and protein. That’s how I lost some weight. I never did excercise, doesn’t mean you shouldn’t though! You could walk. You don’t have to run. I love you anyway!

You’ll know when it’s time to get serious…usually about the time you eat a salt package as your inhaling french fries and driving!
Yes, that happened to me :-)

Well, for me it was when I realized the window of things I could do with my body for pure joy was getting smaller and smaller. It was like a scale — my love of food on one side, and everything else on the other. Never before had the scale even moved, but I discovered a time when my eating no longer gave me joy… but instead caused me discomfort, pain and not just physically but mentally as well as I saw that window getting smaller.

Try a few things. You never know — your bum back could actually be HELPED. I do basic stuff at the Y — the weight circuit, a warm up on the treadmill and a bout of cardio on the exercise bike. But almost immediately it loosened up my body, and my back pain — which was becoming pretty serious in the morning and stiffness in the evening — is pretty much gone. GONE.

The key is finding something you LIKE. I find that I actually LIKE to sweat. I LIKE to get mad on the stationary bike and curse under my breath and get all the day’s stress OUT. I LIKE to feel the sweat pouring down my face and down the small of my back. It feels GOOD.

I don’t even know who in the heck is writing that… could that really be ME!?
