Here’s a funny story. We were at the mall here in Bloomington and it was dinner time. After getting all of our shopping done for Maddy’s birthday we decided to get something to eat. There was a new stir-fry place in the food court. So, as we were ordering (and why are they so pushy with the chicken? Do they have an overstock of chicken?) we get to the end and we are ordering our drinks. Kristi says “I’ll just share your coke with you” So, I turned to the gentleman and say I’ll have a coke, we are going to share a coke. So, as we were checking out, he hands me a coke. I set it down. I look up, and he hands me another cup of a drink. He then says me me, “Here is your cherry coke.” But imagine it in broken engrish, and it does sound similar to share a coke. But he thought we wanted a cherry coke. Well, i took the drinks to the table and Kristi was quite suprised and I said, “here is your cher-y-coke“, in my really bad, border-line racist, engrish. It took her a while, but then she bursts our laughing. Needless to say, we thought it was funny and she thought I should post this on my blog.

nothing to say really

Well all. I haven’t posted in a while, but I really don’t have much to say. The weather absolutely sucks here. I need the 85-90 degree days!!

I will say that iBarnett is cranking along and busy as ever. Getting a little burned out, so I am taking tonight off and going to the movies with the kids, to see the new Narnia movie. The big question is, how do you explain to your loving, good, honest children, that their good and Catholic family is sneaking in candy, popcorn and drinks so you don’t have to pay for it there? It is “breaking the rules” and being sneaky, but very economical for a medium to large families. It’s been tough to explain to them, especially after you get on them for sneaking food up to their rooms at bedtime! I guess you can just pull out “just do it because I said so!” but, hey, lets trick the movie theater and save money by sneaking in our own food!

Ok, I’m just rambling now. How ’bout y’all check out the houses we are looking at for our “winter getaway”. These are on an island off Georgia, but we are also looking at houses in Destin Florida. If anyone knows of somewhere we aren’t looking, let us know. We want water/beach and warmer weather. 60 degrees +.

trying to make a plan a reality

As anyone probably knows, making a plan into a reality isn’t always that easy, and sometimes just not doable. Well, Kristi and I had a crazy plan to move to Florida during the winter months here in Indiana, January/February/March. At first we thought that we’d have to be at a state in life where iBarnett.com is successful enough to support our family. Well, on a “doesn’t hurt to ask” whim, I posed the idea to my employer and asked if there was a way for me to telecommute from Florida (or any other southern, warm state) for 3 months. They said they’d look into it. Well, I just forgot about it, but was approached this week and was told that it is an option and that I could do that!! We are quite excited.

So now comes the task of finding a rental home south somewhere for those months and securing the iBarnett.com funds to do so. If business keeps going as it does, then that’s no problem at all. Finding an affordable house, that is a big task. So, I guess if anyone knows of a house or condo (near or on a beach) then please let us know. Kristi has found a few in Florida that are very affordable, furnished and 1 block from the beach!!
