It’s been 90+ degrees lately, and though I’ve always loved this kind of weather, being fatter than I have ever been before, I’m not enjoying it now. So, yes, again I will claim to lose weight on my blog. I signed up for the “Step into Fit” program at IU and have a pedometer. Now, I need to figure out a way to trick this thing so it looks like I walked a lot.

Well, summer is starting up and our busy schedule is filling up to capacity. With horseback riding lessons, baseball games, yardwork, iBarnett work, IU work, Regnum Christi, toddler stage for Gabby, and new baby things it’s shaping up to be super busy this summer.
So, on the fat end of things. I’ve reached an all-time high (or low, depending on how you look at it). I’m the heaviest I’ve ever been. 230 lbs now! So, almost able to be “The Biggest Loser” contestant, but not quite there. So, I’m looking at doing a few home-workout things to get started. Affording a gym membership and my major time-constraints just won’t work in my schedule yet. I’ll need to sleep at some point, not wanting to cut into the 4-6 hours a night I get now. So, anyone out there with a good home-remedy for fat-man syndrome, let me know. Here’s what I’m looking at as possibilities so far:
WORKOUTS
FOOD

As many of you may know, we like to born our babies at home. Gabby’s birth was the hardest by far and really made us second-guess the next birth at home. Then came Michael, and along with his death, Kristi almost died as well after bleeding out. This was the icing on the cake for me, so I thought.
After much discussion with Kristi, a nurse-midwife at a local doctor’s office, and our long-time midwife, we have decided that we are going to homebirth again. Obviously, this all depends on how the pregnancy goes, and we are monitoring this pregnancy very closely. But if all goes well, we are doing another homebirth. We have confirmed, through a number of tests, that Kristi does NOT have a bleeding problem and that Michael’s case was a common case where Kristi’s body was not ready to give birth and did not have the extra blood supply needed to give birth, hence, her bleeding out. This has put my mind at ease and allowed me to feel comfortable with another homebirth.
So, I just ask that you all pray for us as you can so we can have a nice, natural, non-eventful, homebirth.

Well, we have some good news today. We are expecting a baby, due date sometime in November!! Kristi had noticed in the past couple weeks things were changing here-and-there. Dreams about babies, Gabby has been nursing like crazy, etc. So, today she decided to try a pregnancy test. I didn’t know she was taking the test, I was the only one at the dinner table finishing up with Gabby and her refried bean mess, and Kristi comes out of the bathroom holding a pee-stick, saying, “Well, I’m pregnant!”. But, just like every pregnancy test she’s ever done, I am skeptical. I just don’t trust that faint line. Now, every time I am skeptical, I have been wrong. The faint line always turns out being a positive test. So this time, I am embrasing the plastic with pee on it and believe she is pregnant.
I am so excited I can’t stand it. Now, my kids are so excited I don’t know if they will go to sleep tonight. They are bouncing off the walls trying to think of names, figuring out where the baby will sleep. We will have 4 kids at home now. That puts our total at 6 children. We are officially Catholic now, there’s no turning back!
Yup, that’s right, 6 kids. Go hear to see the math.
Anyway, please pray for us as we pray for this baby and a happy birth in November! More to come as the pregnancy progresses.

It looks like I survived another winter. I swear, next winter I’m moving; at least for the winter. I really don’t like it. I have no idea why or how I managed to stay here in Indiana. Don’t get me wrong, Indiana is great, but I can just do without the winter. And yes; of course I’ve come out of this winter feeling like a failure because I’m still 60 pounds overweight! I have not made it to the gym yet. I hope to scrape up some cash to join the Bloomington Sportsplex. That is the last place I really enjoyed working out and lost a majority of my 70 pounds there last time I worked out. When I do start working out, I will put my progress on iPhat so I have some accountability out there. I’ll need to lose weight to keep up with the kids this year!!
But, I will say, the past couple of days have been great. 60+ degrees, sunny some of the time. I love it! Bring on summer baby! 80+ degrees is the way to go.
